If you want to have more secured access to your desired directory. It can be done by using "Directory Privacy" feature in cPanel. Please follow the instructions below:
Step 1. Log in to the cPanel.
Step 2. Under Files panel, click on "Directory Privacy"
Step 3. Select the directory you want to password protect.
Step 4. Click on the checkbox "Password protect this directory" then Enter a name for the protected directory and Click the "Save" button
Step 5. After save changes, A page will be appeared, Click on "Go back"
Step 6. Now Create a User to access direcotry. Enter desired username, password and Click "Save" button.
Now if you try to browse your password protected directory, you will get a prompt like below.
